For this first assessment based on the new science framework, the overall average score was set at 150 on a 0 to 300 scale. This score will serve as a baseline for comparison to performance on future science assessments.

Because of the recent changes to the assessment, the results from 2009 cannot be compared to those from previous assessment years.
