Graduates Completing Higher Level Mathematics Courses Have Higher NAEP Scores

NAEP scores were higher for those graduates who completed the most challenging mathematics courses. For example, the average NAEP mathematics score of graduates whose highest mathematics course was geometry was lower than that for graduates whose highest course was algebra II. Similarly, the average score for graduates who took calculus was higher than that for those whose highest mathematics course was advanced mathematics.
