Classroom Context: Civics Classroom Activities

As part of the 2010 civics assessment, fourth-, eighth-, and twelfth-graders were asked about the types of civics activities they performed in school. The figures below provide the percentages of students who responded that they had participated at least monthly in each of the activities shown.

In 2010, approximately 87 percent of fourth-graders reported that they completed a worksheet monthly, while approximately 36 percent reported discussing television shows or videos with the same frequency.
