Time spent in in-school music activities

As part of the 2008 NAEP arts assessment, students were asked how often they have an opportunity to participate in music activities.

Findings

  • Overall, 34 percent of eighth-graders in 2008 reported participating in one or more of
    the following musical activities at school: playing in a band, playing in an orchestra, singing in a chorus or choir.
